# Shred Stream: Premium Regions

Some Shred Stream regions are designated as premium as they offer lower latency infrastructure and are available as a separate subscription service.

To achieve lower latency, bloXroute has partnered with top staked validators on Solana across key regions. bloXroute currently supports validators representing over 10% of total staked SOL, enabling direct access to shred data close to where blocks are produced. Because Solana data propagates outward from validators, being geographically and topologically closer to a major validator source means shreds reach you sooner.

### What to expect

Compared to standard regions, premium regions offer:

* Earlier access to shred data from high-stake validators
* Less delay between when shreds are produced and when you receive them
* More consistent performance during periods of network congestion

#### Getting started

To add a premium region, go to **Account → Shred Stream: Premium Regions** in the bloXroute portal and select the premium region you want to subscribe to. Setup steps are the same as for standard regions — see Shred Stream for details.
