Private Regions
The Private Regions add-on gives users access to bloXroute’s private regional relays, designed to reduce latency and improve transaction/bundle delivery.
What You Get
With the add-on, you can:
Route transactions and bundles through private regional relays
Establish direct connections to backbone relays
Improve propagation speed and delivery success
How It Works
When a Gateway starts, it automatically pings all relays available under your account and connects to the one with the lowest latency.
You can override the default by forcing the Gateway to connect to a specific relay using the
--relay-ipstartup argument.
🛠 Note: Only users with the Private Regions add-on can connect to backbone relays.
For Gateway users:
--relay-ip <BACKBONE_RELAY_IP>Relay Types
Public Relays
Located in London, Virginia, Frankfurt, Singapore. Available to all users.
Private Relays
Available only with Private Regions add-on. Ideal for users in regions with high latency to public relays.
Backbone Relays
High-performance central relays. Direct access requires Private Regions add-on.
Why It Matters
The closer your node is to a relay, the faster it can hear and send transactions. Traders and node operators with latency-sensitive workflows benefit the most — especially those with global infrastructure who want to bring the BDN closer to their edge locations.
